As we say goodbye to the year that was 2018 and look forward to the year ahead, we pause to reflect on what 2018 delivered to us all.
I am continually humbled by your support and messages of encouragement. No where was this more evident than in the early days of 2018 when and where we needed it the most. Thank you for all who wrote, emailed and posted messages - wishing us well and sending prayers.
The passing of my bill C-211 on June 21st of 2018 was a bittersweet moment. Our bill is the first of its kind and unique to Canada. I thank everyone who shared their personal stories with us and who provided support at every step of the way. C-211 will save lives and I look forward to working with my colleagues from all sides to continue to fight against the debilitating mental health injury that PTSD can deliver.
This past summer, our province once again endured an unprecedented fire season that once again put lives and properties at risk.
Just as we did in 2017 we collectively banded together to do what was necessary to look after one another, to ensure we all were safe and secure.
This is what I am most proud being from this region, when things get tough and the deck is stacked against us - we rally together and face down every challenge that comes our way.
As 2019 begins and we enter into yet another year of uncertainty..one thing that gives me solace is that we will do this together..and together we can do anything. God bless.
